Down Payment Assistance in Hallandale Beach, FL: The Zone Decides

Only inside the zone
The big local assistance comes from the agency that renews part of the city (the CRA) and only works for homes inside that zone, not across all of Hallandale Beach.
State assistance, Chenoa Fund and the county’s tax discount do not have that zone restriction.
Agency verified on October 12, 2026 against its residential programs page. State assistance, on October 14, 2026, with Broward limits. The county’s row was read from its list by locality, the same one the Tracker reads.
In Hallandale Beach, two homes on the same street can sit on different sides of the boundary. That is why this guide starts with the map and not with the amount.
It is provided by Hallandale Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (the CRA), the agency that renews one specific part of the city, known as the CRA zone. It provides up to $100,000 as a loan; up to $10,000 if your household earns between 120% and 140% of what a typical family in the county earns; and $5,000 more for lifeguards, teachers and nurses.
If the home is in Hallandale Beach but outside the CRA zone, this assistance does not exist for you, even if everything else fits. The agency is the one that says whether an address is inside: ask it before you count on the assistance.
It is a loan with no interest. After 10 years you do not have to pay it back (after 5 years, for the $10,000 one). If you sell before 10 years, you pay back 100% in the first 5 and then 80%, 60%, 40% and 20%.
Here earning little can also leave you out: the program has a minimum income, not just a maximum. The agency confirms the minimum that applies to your household size.
The maximum, by how many people live in your household:
People in your household The most your household can earn per year 1 $124,180 2 $141,960 3 $159,600 4 $177,520 5 $191,660 6 or more $205,940 The agency does not publish a maximum home price. Confirm it with the agency before you count on one, or on none.
The rest of what it requires, such as credit, the homebuyer course, the appointment and that the agency has the right to buy your home first if you sell, is in the guide to this assistance.
Broward County’s purchase assistance (Homebuyer Purchase Assistance, or HPA) does have a row for Hallandale Beach in its list. But a zone appearing on the list does not mean it has money: the county marks each row with or without funds and updates it in rounds. Check its status on the Down Payment Assistance Tracker and confirm it with your lender before you count on it.
If the county has money for that row, its guide says this assistance can go in third place, behind a Florida Housing loan or the assistance of an area the city wants to improve: here, the CRA’s. The CRA program does not say what it combines with, so any stacking with it is confirmed by the agency and your lender, not this page.
These do not depend on the map. Florida Housing assistance (with Broward limits) and Chenoa Fund work throughout Hallandale Beach, and so does the county’s tax discount, though it is not money: it changes what you pay in taxes each year. Only one state assistance fits. The tax discount cannot be combined with some state loans (the ones paid for with bonds), and it is not confirmed that Chenoa Fund can be added to the area assistance: your lender confirms the final combination. How they combine is explained in the county assistance guide and, for the discount, in its guide.

We help you check whether your home is inside the zone.
The agency is the one that confirms it, not the listing. Leave us your number and we take care of it with you: asking it with the address in hand.
The terms of a public program can change without notice: always confirm with the agency, the county or your lender before applying. This guide orients you, it does not advise you.
