Up to 5%

Chenoa Fund is accepting applications — checked October 20, 2026. Its page says the program is funded all year and does not run out of money. You apply through an approved lender. Official source.

  • It is based on the home price, so it changes with every home: it is not a fixed dollar figure.

The figures and requirements come from Chenoa Fund’s official page, read on October 14, 2026. The status above comes from the last time we read that page, with its date.

    • How much: up to 5% of the home price, for the down payment. It is a maximum, not what everyone receives.
    • How it works: It is a second loan for the down payment: depending on the case, you pay it back or it is forgiven. It works mostly with the loan that asks for only 3.5% down (FHA).
    • Who: you do not have to be a first-time buyer. It works in Miami-Dade and in Broward.
    • How to apply: through a lender approved by Chenoa Fund. Ask yours whether it works with Chenoa Fund before you count on the money.
  • Chenoa Fund, run by CBC Mortgage Agency, offers up to 5% of the home price, for the down payment.

It is a second loan for the down payment: depending on the case, you pay it back or it is forgiven. It works mostly with the loan that asks for only 3.5% down (FHA).

A “second loan” is another loan, separate from the main loan you use to buy the home. And FHA is the federal government loan that asks for a small down payment.

  • You do not have to be a first-time buyer. This assistance does not require it, and it works in Miami-Dade and in Broward.

This is what the assistance asks for that we do not ask you about in the finder. Confirm it with your lender before you count on it:

    • Your credit score has to be 600 or higher.
    • If your credit score is below 640, you have to take a homebuyer course.
    • Your lender has to be approved by Chenoa Fund.
    • This assistance has no income limit. Your lender tells you whether you have to pay the money back or it is forgiven.

  • Do I have to be a first-time buyer? No. This assistance does not require being a first-time buyer.

Do I repay the money or is it forgiven? Depending on the case, and your lender is the one who tells you which one is yours. Do not assume it will be forgiven.

Is there an income limit? This assistance does not publish one. It is on the list above, among the things you should confirm with your lender.

Which loan does it work with? Mostly with the federal government loan that asks for a small down payment (FHA).

Is it open today? See the card above and its date: it is the status we last read on Chenoa Fund’s page. You apply through an approved lender.
