Down Payment Assistance in Lauderhill, FL: What Is Confirmed and What Is Not

Only the city’s

The county purchase assistance has no row for Lauderhill in its list, so the only one that can be confirmed is the city’s own.

  • Confirmed here means the official source publishes it, with its date. Everything else stays marked as pending.

City verified on October 12, 2026 against its purchase program page. State assistance, on October 14, 2026, with Broward limits. That the county does not name the city was checked in its list by locality, the same one the Tracker reads.

Tap one to read it.

  • The city’s assistance does not say everything: it leaves questions unanswered on its own pages. What is not answered is not filled in here: it is marked as pending.

  • It is run by City of Lauderhill, Housing Grants. It provides up to $75,000 if your income is very low, $65,000 if it is low and $40,000 if it is moderate (the last one only with state funds).

It is a second loan on the home, on top of your bank loan: it has no interest and you pay it at the end. If the money is federal, you do not have to pay it back when the term ends; if it is from the state, the debt goes down 10% each year for 10 years.

Being a first-time buyer. Yes, it is required: the city’s housing plan (2025-2028) asks that you be a first-time buyer (no home owned in the last 3 years) and not own any other property. The program page does not repeat it, so confirm it with the city.

The most your household can earn, by how many people live in it:

People in your householdThe most your household can earn per year
    1$106,440
    2$121,680
    3$136,800
    4$152,160
    5$164,280
    6 or more$176,520

The maximum home price depends on the money, not on the home: up to $451,000 if your assistance comes from federal funds and up to $679,324 if it comes from state funds. Count on the lower figure until the city tells you which one applies in your case.

The city also sets a condition for your lender: it does not accept your loan sitting behind another loan on the home, and it publishes no list of lenders. Yours has to follow the city’s rules; ask the city what that means in your case.

    • How much you may keep saved after closing. The city’s two pages give different figures. Count on the lower one until the city confirms; both are in the guide to this assistance.
    • Where the rest of your down payment comes from. The rule sets a minimum, but only explains two parts: one comes from your own pocket and another may be a gift. How the missing part is filled, the source does not say.

The rest of what the city requires, such as the homebuyer course and the permit that says a new home can be occupied, is in that same guide.

  • Broward County hands out its purchase assistance (Homebuyer Purchase Assistance, or HPA) city by city: each one has its own row in the list it publishes. Lauderhill has no row in that list.

So it is not on record whether the county gives anything in Lauderhill or how much. It may cover it within a group of zones, but that is not confirmed either. Do not count on it until your lender or the county confirms.

How that assistance works where it does appear, and the full list, are in the county assistance guide.

  • Alongside the city’s assistance, and depending on what your lender accepts, the options include Florida Housing assistance (with Broward limits), Chenoa Fund and the county’s tax discount, which is not money (it changes what you pay in taxes each year). Only one state assistance fits. The tax discount cannot be combined with some state loans (the ones paid for with bonds), and it is not confirmed that Chenoa Fund can be added to the city’s assistance. Your lender confirms the final combination. How they combine is explained in the county assistance guide and, for the discount, in its guide. Which ones accept applications today is on the Down Payment Assistance Tracker.
