Up to $70,000
The city is accepting applications — checked October 14, 2026. According to its page, funding is limited and given out first come, first served. Official source.
The most the loan can be, not what you will necessarily receive. Before you count on it, see what the city still has to confirm.
The figures and requirements come from the city’s official Housing Grants page, checked on October 14, 2026. The status above comes from the last time we read that page, with its date.
- How much: up to $70,000 as a loan. It is a maximum, not what you will necessarily receive.
- How it works: It is a second loan on the home, on top of your bank loan: it has no interest and you pay it at the end. If you meet the conditions, it becomes a gift and you do not pay it back.
- Who: first-time buyers purchasing, inside the City of Deerfield Beach, the home they will live in, with household income within the cap in the table below.
- How to apply: through the city’s official page.
The program is run by City of Deerfield Beach, Community Services – Housing and Grants Division. It provides up to $70,000 as a loan.
It is a second loan on the home, on top of your bank loan: it has no interest and you pay it at the end. If you meet the conditions, it becomes a gift and you do not pay it back.
Before you sign, read the whole loan contract and ask the city anything you do not understand, especially what the conditions are and for how long you must meet them.
It is a program for first-time buyers who buy inside the City of Deerfield Beach.
The income cap shown in the city’s table depends on how many people live in your household:
People in your household The most your household can earn per year 1 $71,000 2 $81,150 3 $91,300 4 $101,400 5 $109,550 6 or more $117,650 The city does not publish a maximum price for the home. Do not use another Broward program’s cap as if it were this one’s.
This is what is still to be confirmed, or what the program asks for and we do not ask in the assistance finder:
- The city page says up to $85,000 and the city housing plan (2025 to 2028) says up to $70,000. Count on $70,000 until the city confirms.
- The table on the city page goes up to 80% of what a typical family in the county earns, but the text also mentions moderate income; your household may be able to earn more. The city confirms the limit.
- The city does not publish the maximum price of the home.
- When you apply you need your lender’s letter (pre-approval) and the signed purchase contract.
- It has to be the home where you will live in Deerfield Beach (house, condominium, townhouse or villa).

- 2Confirm what is still to be confirmedRead the official page and ask the city about whatever is still open in the list above, especially your household’s income cap.
- 3Get your papers readyHave on hand the records that show you are a first-time buyer and your household’s income. The city’s document list overrides any summary, including this one.
- 4Apply through the city’s pageThe application is made from its official page. Funding is limited and given out first come, first served, so it pays to send it complete.
In the assistance finder you can compare this program with others in Broward and Miami-Dade, using your own numbers. The Assistance Tracker shows each program’s status with the date we checked it. This guide explains the terms, but it does not replace the city’s review of your case.
How much will the city give me? The assistance is up to $70,000 as a loan. It is a maximum, not a sure amount: the city decides case by case.
Do I have to pay the money back? It is a loan. How it is repaid is in “How much it provides and how it is repaid”. The full conditions are set by the contract you sign with the city: read it in full before you sign.
Do I have to be a first-time buyer? Yes. It is a program for first-time buyers. Confirm with the city how it defines that in your case.
Is there a maximum price for the home? The city does not publish one. Ask it before you fall in love with a home, and do not use another program’s cap.
Is money available today? The program’s funding is limited and given out first come, first served. See the card above: it says what we checked on the city’s page and on what date.
